Water Metering Program

Did you know...

State law requires that all water service connections be metered by January 2017. To meet that requirement, the City must install meters and convert billing for 15,000 single-family residential water customers beginning June 1, 2012 and working into 2017.

You can help!

Get ready for this new change by learning more about how this law will affect you and how you can save money by being conscious of your water use, changing water-wasting habits, replacing water-guzzling fixtures with more efficient models, and repairing leaks.

Anticipated Meter Installation Timeline

Meters will be installed according to the schedule below developed by staff and approved by City Council. Staff analyzed meter reading routes, billing cycles, and installation processes to develop a cost-effective and efficient schedule for both the water utility and customers.
