Project Overview
The Agate Bay Stormwater Improvements Phase I project addresses stormwater pollutants impacting Lake Whatcom from approximately 41 acres of residential development.  Project components include ditch stabilization to reduce erosion, check dams to slow the flow of stormwater and improve infiltration, and three filter vaults to remove phosphorus from stormwater before it enters Lake Whatcom.  In addition, upgrades were completed to existing storm drainage infrastructure to improve stormwater conveyance and address safety issues.
