As Lake Whatcom Management Program partners, the City of Bellingham, Whatcom County, and Lake Whatcom Water and Sewer District worked together to develop a coordinated five-year work plan to meet program goals for the protection of Lake Whatcom and its watershed. The final 2025-2029 Lake Whatcom Management Program Work Plan is now available.
Public comments were accepted on the draft work plan from July 25 to August 25, 2024. Thank you to everyone who provided input on the draft via Engage Bellingham and email. All comments received were considered by the Lake Whatcom Management Program partners during the development of the final plan. A summary of public comments, staff responses, and work plan edits are linked below.
The work plan was approved by Bellingham City Council, Whatcom County Council, and the Lake Whatcom Water and Sewer District Board of Commissioners in late January 2025. Please view the Engage Bellingham page for more information.
